The Administrative Simplification provisions of The Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and the HITECH Act of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act require extensive efforts on the part of health care providers, health plans, health care clearinghouses and business associates in order to comply.
